Turn Match Play Into Meaningful Improvement
TCSP is proud to offer match analysis for competitive players participating in USTA, SACT, UTR, and other league and tournament events. Players are notorious for performing better in practice as opposed to in a real match-play environment. TCSP is launching Match Analysis to help educate players by analyzing performance successes and failures using their own match video footage.
Match analysis uses captured video of at least one set of tennis to provide feedback on the performance of singles players and doubles teams. Players can record using their own devices or by using the TCSP-PlaySight video capture system to record a match. Players can use the provided QR codes to set up their recordings just prior to their match time starting. Players can also email playsight@tenniscentersandpoint.com at least one week in advance to set up the recording appointment for their match(es). The date, time, and court # must be provided.
Match Analysis Benefits
- Preliminary review of match prior to meeting to determine areas of focus.
- One (1) hour of video review with a Coach for a singles player, doubles team, or with an entire team.
- Tactical success and breakdowns such as:
- Court coverage – did you move well and did you exploit gaps and space on the other side
- Offense vs Defense – who was dictating points more than 50% of the time
- Unforced vs Forced errors – who made more unforced errors and who was forcing errors
- Directional patterns – were directional patterns consistent, intentional, isolating
- Technical successes and breakdowns such as:
- Contact & Timing – were you able to stay in rhythm with the flow of the point and opponent’s pace
- Spin Variety – were you able to hit intentionally and/or handle opponents’ spin variety
- Lobs & Shorts – were you able to hit intentionally and/or handle opponents’ lobs or short shots
- Offense & Defense – were you able to hit offensive or defensive shots to carry out your tactic(s)
- Mental successes and breakdowns such as:
- Pressure situations – were you able to win the big points
- Momentum swings – could you respond or adjust when opponents were on a roll
- Body language – were you keeping your morale up & maintain your cool under pressure
- Partner support – if doubles, did you provide positive energy for your partner throughout the match
Getting Your Match Analyzed
TCSP Coach Jeff Richards, a battle-tested veteran with 40+ years of competitive tournament and league play experience, will be launching Match Analysis two days a week to get the program started. Registration links will be available through your member portal in Club Automation. Other TCSP coaches will begin adding their availability to the schedule to increase the number of available analysis sessions in the coming months.
How to Register
- Cost = $90.00 per hour for 1-2 players
- Cost for 3 or more players is $90.00 per hour +$10.00 additional for player # 3-12.
