Coach Mark talks about the perfect contact points for your ground stroke in this weeks TCSP tip!
Hi this is coach Mark from TCSP doing the tennis tip of the week. This week we’re going to focus on the contact point for your ground strokes.
What you want to do is you want to make sure that your contact point is in front of your front knee just barely, and one trick to make sure that you keep your stoke fluid, is to try to see the ball through the back of the racquet, So if i see the contact point is in front of my body with the ball in front of my body, okay? so if you watch my head through my stroke, I’m going to stroke through the ball, identify the ball and then square, ready for the next shot.
And we do the same thing on the backhand, it’s merely making sure that when the backhand comes through, the ball comes through you’re looking at it, you’re pushing it through. One handed or two handed.
Okay, what that does, is to keep your head down, keeps your contact point in front of you, and it leads to some great balls.
Have a great week; we’ll see you next time.
