TCSP will be spotlighting various members in their newsletter that epitomize the spirit of TCSP! Our first member spotlight is Lou Maxon. If you have someone you think deserves the spotlight, please email Monica Blum at email@example.com.
Having picked up tennis at age 50, Lou Maxon continues improving 20 years later with a finesse that never ceases to entertain spectators and confound opponents. Lou commits around 12 hours a week to his tennis and is the active patriarch of three generations of TCSP players. He laughs at being one of those players who faithfully schedules “the rest of their lives” around their tennis.
For Lou, tennis is not only an intriguing game, but a platform to experience a variety of great people. He thanks Coach Jeff Richards, the ever-growing band of Live Ball regulars, and other musically enhanced clinics. On court, Lou’s skill is often partnered by mischief. Even when jokingly given a women’s white tennis skirt, Lou unabashedly wore the skirt for three days of camp. A good player always recognizes opportunity!
Lou has a love of sailing, fly fishing, and regularly embarrassing his grandchildren with overt but thoughtful attention to complete strangers. On and off the court, Lou exudes a deliberate intention to lift the spirit of others he encounters every day. Stop by Willy’s Café for Lou’s favorite smoothie, the Evergreen Supreme with a protein shot – “the Lou Special.”
If you’re ever lucky enough to find yourself next to Lou on the court; be ready. If you find yourself on the other side of the net, well… look out!

When is it time to restring? Touring professionals re-string their rackets daily to keep performance at an optimum. We recommend stringing a racket at least as many times per year that you play per week. So if you’re playing 5-6 times per week you should be re-stringing every 2 months to maintain performance. We don’t recommend going longer than 3 months due to tensions loss and string degradation which can impact performance, control, and feel.
Luxilon has introduced new colors in there Alu Power line, blue, red, lime and green, and we are fully stocked in the Pro Shop @ TCSP. If you have any stringing questions please feel free to ask any of our qualified stringers… Mike, Dean, Chad and Scott are there to help you navigate you through the tough stringing decisions and get you into the product that will accelerate your game!
