Fitness is one of the most important aspects of player development. Our goal for the high performance program is to provide a safe, energetic and effective program to aid athletes with injury prevention, recovery and performance. Tennis is a very physical sport and without becoming a super athlete, it is almost impossible to become a top player.
Performance classes are directed by Tom Jennings. Like the tennis training, the intensity, focus and duration of physical training varies depending on the period of training in our players’ tournament schedules. The coach/mentor will stay in close communication with our performance instructor to make sure players are training correctly based on their tournament schedules.
Performance classes will develop abilities such as mobility, stability, strength, speed, quickness, power, and conditioning that a tennis player must have to compete at a high level. The coach/mentor will track performance schedules and provide guidance to each player. Performance classes will be offered after all afternoon classes to increase access to this important training element.
