Jeff Richards brings a unique blend of instruction and dynamic drilling to TCSP, a quality that very few instructors possess.  His passion for developing players and teaching people how to love the game of tennis has inspired hundreds of players over his 20 plus years of coaching.

Jeff is a native of the Pacific Northwest and attended Decatur High School in Federal Way where he went undefeated with a record of 44-0 as a Varsity Singles player.  As a college player, Jeff won the NWAAA State Title his junior year.

His teaching career began in Japan, where he taught overseas.  He then became an elementary school teacher while coaching tennis.  Jeff was named Coach of the Year while teaching at Todd Beamer High School.  He also served as Director of Tennis for the Mercer Island Shore Club and worked as a lead instructor for 6 years at the Mercer Island Beach Club.

As a certified Cross Fit instructor, Jeff helped to create the dynamic Boot Camp tennis workouts as well as TCSP’s Cardio Tennis programs during his time at the temporary Sand Point tennis facility, the Racquet Training Center, from 2009 – 2012.  He also serves as a firefighter for the Redmond Fire Department and is responsible for keeping his fellow comrades in shape through rigorous Cross Fit workouts.
