Scott Daniel is a USPTA certified teaching professional and has taught in the Seattle area for nearly fifteen years. He has directed programs for Seattle Parks and Recreation and has also served on the teaching staff at Amy Yee Tennis Center and the University of Washington’s Nordstrom Tennis center. Scott served as Director of Junior Tennis at the University of Washington for over five years. Scott also served as head coach at Lakeside School in Seattle from 2005-2008 and was the 2006 Metro League coach of the year. In 2015, Scott returned to Lakeside School as an assistant coach.
Scott has coached juniors ranging from beginners to nationally-ranked players. Many of the juniors he has worked with have played high school tennis in the Seattle area and some have gone on to play college tennis at the Division I, II, and III levels.
Scott’s primary focus is now adult coaching. His USTA League teams compete at the 3.0-5.0 level. Scott’s teams have advanced to Local Playoffs every year since 2004. His teams have advanced to the PNW Sectional Championships 15 times and to the National Championships 11 times. Scott’s teams have advanced to the National Championship semifinals seven times, collecting two first-place finishes, three second-place finishes, one third-place finish, and one fourth-place finish.
Scott currently resides in Seattle with his wife Nancy and daughter Viv. When he is not taking his daughter to tennis tournaments, he enjoys spending time with his family, reading, eating great food, and resting up so he can get back on the courts! Scott is excited to be part of the fantastic teaching staff at Tennis Center Sand Point.
