Serve & Return Clinic 3.5

Serve & Return Clinics spend a great deal of time helping players with the fundamentals of the service motion, understanding the kinetic chain from the ground through the contact point, toss mechanics and placement of the serve. 3.5 Players will learn how to impart topspin on their serves to add a new dimension to their service game. Technique will be more critical at this level in order to execute what is asked of players. 4.0 Players are welcome to join this class as well!

The Clinic will also focus on the 2nd most important shot in tennis – The Return! Players will learn to return effectively and handle various speeds and spins as well as location of returns that help set up points whether doubles or singles.

Clinic 3.5

3.5 Clinics are group lessons that focus heavily on stroke mechanics, rallying and net play. Players will spend time on refining their swing shape, offensive vs defensive shot-marking and advanced footwork patterns. Rallying with peer a minimum of 12-15 times per ball at a medium to fast pace is the goal to allow players to continue on in Tactical Clinics and play competitively.

Net Play will consist of volley technique as well as tracking at the net and movement patterns to help ensure success with clean contact. Clinics will spend roughly 60% of the time on the baseline and 40% of the time on net play.

Tactics 3.5 Doubles

Tactics Doubles is designed to put you in doubles match play situations and give you the tactical tools needed to compete. 3.5 Players are expected to be able to rally a minimum of 12-15 balls with directional control at a medium pace to take this class. Learn doubles strategy, positioning, movement, high-percentage vs. low-percentage shots, how to beat various playing styles, and more!!

Tactics 3.5 Singles

Tactics Singles is designed to put you in singles match play situations and give you the tactical tools needed to compete.  3.5 Players are expected to be able to rally a minimum of 12-15 balls with directional control at a medium pace. Learn singles strategy, positioning, movement, high-percentage vs. low-percentage shots, how to beat various playing styles, and more!!

Ball Machine Clinic

Ball Machine Clinics focus very heavily on groundstrokes and are designed to help define the shape of your swing as well as work on footwork patterns. Learn to hit defensively and offensively while incorporating both topspin and slice on your FH and BH. Learn to use the Continental grip effectively for lobs, drop shots and drives for versatility.

Boot Camp

Boot Camp classes are designed for serious players dedicated to elevating their game to the next level. Boot Camp is for players rated 3.5 thru 5.0 who are looking for a hybrid of cardio and strength-conditioning, combined with fast-paced situational drilling, run very much like a college tennis team practice.

Players must notify instructors of any health issues before starting the class and, if necessary, provide a doctor’s note regarding physical activity limitations.

Price for 8-week session:  $185 +  tax

Price for 1 drop-in class:   $27.50 + tax

 

 

Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis is a high-energy fitness activity that combines the best features of the sport of tennis with cardiovascular exercise; delivering the ultimate, full-body, calorie-burning, aerobic workout. Drills and circuits get the maximum out of players without the competitive pressure of playing against peers. This is about the individual workout, while bonding and making new playing partners for life!

Players should expect to run and sweat for at least 75% of the 75 minute class. Players must notify instructors of any health issues before starting the class and, if necessary, provide a doctor’s note regarding physical activity limitations.

Live Ball 3.5+

Live Ball is the tennis workout that tries to check all the boxes: Fitness. Fun. Action. Camaraderie. Live Ball is all about the moment and enjoying a sport that we all have a passion for. Players of all varieties come out to play — different skills, different incomes, different ages… —but there is one common thread:  Everyone shows up ready to squeeze out every ounce of tennis they have in 75 minutes.

Live Ball 3.5 is a rating-restricted clinic for TCSP members rated 3.5 to 4.0. Players can expect to play a lot of situational point play under the direction of a coach and should have the ability to rally 4-6 balls with directional control to be effective. Players must also have the ability to defend the forward position at net and volley offensively when opportunities present themselves at net.
